Mom and Rick's Big Day

Some of you know that my mom and dad divorced when I was 8, when I was 14 my mom remarried for a very, very short time -just long enough to have my baby sister -otherwise though mom has been a single lady working hard and being happy.  My mom is amazing.  She is kind, outgoing, funny, hard working and charitable.  She has been "fine" being alone all these years and had long ago given up on finding love again.  The Lord had quite the plan for her life though -all those years of waiting would have been much easier if she had known what the plan was!- :)  somewhere about 50 years ago my mom met a boy named Rick Barber.  I think she had a crush on him in the fourth grade.  In high school they dated and went to prom together two years in a row (his then hers) they stayed in touch while they went to college but there was a bigger plan at work -isn't there always???-  Rick met and married his first wife Lenna and my mom met and married my dad.  Life goes on and things happen the way they need to.  A couple of years ago Lenna passed away and as the months went by my mom and Rick got in touch with each other again and those feelings were rekindled.  :)  That brings us to April 14 of this year when mom and Rick were sealed for time and all eternity in the Draper Utah Temple.  It is such a sweet story.  Rick is awesome and he is head over heels in love with my mom.  It is so cute the way he adores her so.  We are so happy for them both!!!  :)  Here are some pictures from that wonderful day. There are a lot of pics!  :)

 the happy couple
the glitter sisters -the pet name for my mama and her sissys they are always done up no matter the occasion a trait they got from their mother .  One of my favorite stories about my grandmother is my mom and her sisters were picking potatoes in the field so they were dirty and grimy -it was a farm for heaven sakes and my grandma came out there to deliver their lunch dressed to the nines in her pink suit and heels.  Love the image of her tottering across the field looking fab.  :)  Me and each of my girl cousins are the same way -I never leave the house without my make-up on.
the paparazzi the one on the right doesn't look very happy that I caught her on camera :)
