Happy Seventh Birthday Haylee Jo!

Thursday November the 6th Haylee turned SEVEN! WOW! I can't believe the last year has gone by so quickly!!! This year we started a new birthday tradition...Birthday Wishes. You get a wish for each year you are old. Haylee was really excited to spend her seven wishes

Wish #1 Pancakes for breakfast
YUMMY!
Wish#2 NO SCHOOL! -there aren't any pictures of this one
Wish #3 a luxurious bubble bath
She was in there for an hour!
opening presents - no wish needed here -

Pokemon Cards! Yessss!!!
A chemistry set from Grandma Chelle!
And drumroll please..... AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR! She wanted one of these so badly!
Very exciting!
Look at that awesome pink!
-that awesome pink set me back 10 more bucks than just the plain one!
Dad rockin' out before he left for work. Oh yeah and now he's BALD!
Bad haircut = shaving your own head totally bald! :)
Wish #4 - making things explode...well not quite.
Wish #5 eating dinner on the couch while watching TV
-Usually a big no no!
Wish #6 was an extra bedtime story - no pictures of that one either.
Wish #7 was to go see Madagascar 2 on Friday - it was HYSTERICAL!
So the wishes were for the actual day of her birthday today -Saturday- we had her party. It was a carnival theme and we had a BLAST! The pictures of the kids actually playing the games were pretty blurry -Joe wasn't using the flash - but here is what we did...
The first game we played was "Lucky Cups" throw a ball into the cup
and try to hit the colored ones for points.
Then we did a bean bag toss.
Here is a random picture of the cake. I have never in my life stacked
a cake and decorated it. It was fun!
What do you think?
The table
the decorations
the cupcakes...decorated by Haylee
the adult friends from r to l
Eric, Ally (little friend), Lisa, Troy, Erica, Meta, Sheena, Hermione, and Matt
What a fab group! T and E drove all the way from Pennsylvania!
The kids picking their bean bags. Sierra and I made them.
The cake with the candles
Singing to the birthday girl
The mysterious fortune tellers. You should have heard some of their awesome predictions.
*If you put on your coat....you will be warm.
*You will recieve presents on December 25th.
*You will recieve a treat before the end of the day.
Scary how right on they were!
Here is the mysterious fortune teller on another day. I mentioned above how Sierra and I made the bean bags. I have been teaching her how to sew and she is LOVING it. She is making a rag quilt for a Young Women's project. I have had such a great time teaching her.
She is doing GREAT!

Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween everyone! We had a really fun Halloween and I think we ended up with more candy than we started with!!! Yikes! I think we will be giving it away as Christmas presents! I don't have any pictures of HD and Sierra as they are way too cool to hang out with me long enough for that! :) HD trick or treated with his buddies they all wore capes and went as teenagers wearing capes. Ha Ha! Sierra was a pirate and had a really cute costume but she was at Bolling AFB with her friend Tasha they trick or treated over there and then had a sleep over. I talked to her last night and she said they got a ton of candy and had a blast. So that leaves me with my youngest - thank goodness she's still too young to ditch me!- Haylee was Indiana Jones. Her favorite part of the costume was the whip. We went out with our friends and ended up having about 10 kids in our trick or treat party. We were all worn out last night! Hope you all had a fun night as well!

Indiana Jones and her sidekick Daisy Can you tell how much Daisy loves wearing this hat?Indi at sunsetKeeping the front porch under control!Whapsh! And now kind of an added post with pictures of our sweet Daisy dog.
I honestly don't know what we would do without her!
Our sweet girl.
I have pictures from carving pumpkins too but that will have to wait for another day! :)

Old Friends

Tonight I went to a meeting at church (it was Stake Auxillary Training for those of you who know what I am talking about) :) - One of the best things about going is not just learning new things but getting to see a bunch of people from around the area that I don't get to see that often. I went into one of the other rooms tonight looking for my friend Cyndi, I took her daughters senior pictures and I was giving her the proofs on CD, I find her chat for a moment when I happen to look up and see my friend Colleen from Edwards AFB, CA!!! We were in the same ward at Edwards and I just LOVE HER! I knew she was in the area somewhere but I didn't realize that she was in my Stake! I haven't seen Colleen in four years but there she was in the same room as me! :) It seriously made my whole night!
Military life is hard. Your friends become your family. Most people don't understand that. It's our friends who are there at our kids baptisms, our friends who are there when it's our birthday, our firends who are there to help us when life is falling apart, friends who are there when you have a baby. Not having family around me has made me a stronger person than I ever thought possible. I am so blessed and thankful for the friends that have been there during all those special moments of my life and extra grateful for the ones that have been in it more than once! We have another set of friends moving to this base next May. It is so fun to reconnect after beign apart for a few years and to do it for longer than just a visit is AWESOME! :) To all of my military friends - I LOVE YOU! Thank you for always being there when I need you and for being such an amazing extended family!

I've been tagged!

My friend Teresa tagged "everyone!" to do this so here is mine. :)

You post the fourth picture from the fourth folder in your pictures. Here it is...

It is the tree in our front yard after an ice storm last February. Right before I went out to take the pictures the sun was shining and the tree was all lit up. As soon as I grabbed the camera and went out there it was cloudy again! Bummer... Here are some of the other pictures I took that day.

It was really cool how the ice was coated on the branches.

PS These pictures look much better if they are bigger! Click on each picture to see it up close. :)

The Pumpkin Patch

On Monday we went on our yearly outing to the pumpkin patch. We went with our friends Rob, Michelle, and Tyler of course! :) It was unseasonably warm around 80 degrees but that is cooler than when we went last year! Last year the temperature was 98! The kids had a great time and we got some big pumpkins for a great price! Can't beat that! Here is our day....
My three pumpkins
Haylee being strong and lifting hers off the table! It is big!
Another one of Haylee JTyler with Uncle Joe. Joe is not a big baby lover but he sure loves this boy. :)
In the straw maze
Our wagon full of goodies.
Tyler.
The. Cutest. Baby!
He is always so happy!
Sierra with her pumpkin.
Strong guy!
I think this picture is posted above too but I have no idea how to take it off so here it is again! :)
He will be FIFTEEN in three and a half months! YIKES!
This one will be seven in just over three weeks!
The middle child. 13 and a half.
Joe playing with Sierra to make her touch her face with her hands after she pet a goat!
Sierra is a HUGE germaphobe!
Tyler and his cute mommy.
Haylee loving the animals- this girl needs to live on a farm with a beach nearby! Anyone know a place like that? Uncle Joe protecting Tyler's hands from the dirty sheep.
Tyler was mesmorized.
Feeding the goat.
Our fam! So glad Michelle had the great idea to go together. She took this pic! Thanks Michelle!
Haylee insisted I take this picture of her. She said "MOM! This is the perfect spot for a picture!" it's the little photographer in her.
She would not give me a big smile for anything!
I love these pictures! I think I might make a collage for my apple kitchen. :)
Money is hard to come by these days. I have to make my own art!

Happy fall to all of you!!!
